Have you ever been in the weight room with your team when you look around and see players are lifting weights that you know are not heavy enough for them? I definitely have. I used to chalk this up to not wanting to push themselves, but over time I have realized that they just don't know how much weight to use. Because of this, I created the Complete Head Coach Weight Lifting Charts. We began using these charts 2 years ago and improved our strength gains a ton. I will never forget the looks on our players faces after I gave them the weights they were required to lift for that set... More importantly, I will never forget the looks on their faces after they succeeded on those sets with those weights and surprised themselves. They were pushed out of their comfort zone and that's when the magic started to happen.
The process is easy, after a few weeks of working on kids having great form during your core lifts, have a 1 rep max out day. We usually spend the month of December working our lifting form and perfecting techniques so we can max out the week before Christmas Break. Once you have the 1 Rep Max for the player, you simply enter the data into the max out master charts in the spread sheet and the players working weight will automatically generate. Add in the Complete Head Coach bar load charts that comes with the download and your players will have no excuse but to push themselves to their maximum potential in the weight room.
The Charts come with 6 workouts along with an option to create your own:
- 5 sets of 5-8
- 10's Fail
- 10-8-6-4-2
- 5-4-3-2-1
- 3 sets of 10
- 3 sets of 3
- Create your Own
We Max Out once every 4 weeks using our 5-4-3-2-1 workout and update the max numbers for each players so they are continually challenged once they begin gaining strength. If you are doing this by hand or any other way, you are wasting precious time! If you are not using this program, your players are not reaching their maximum potential. Increase your individual player gains in a few easy steps. A team is only as strong as it's weakest link!!! Using these charts, the weakest link on your team will reach his/her maximum potential!
Don't Believe Me? See what another fellow high school head coach has to say:
"The weightlifting chart program is a game changer for our workouts. Creating weight room charts and calculating percentages used to be a tedious, time consuming task. Now I can simply input our max numbers and instantly receive the percentages that our guys need to use in order to gain strength. The program saves valuable time and makes our workouts more efficient. It can be used to customize a variety of reps and sets without having to recalculate any numbers. I recommend this program to any team who is serious about developing an effective weight room."
