The key is to have a resume and cover letter that will get the attention of the administration and highlight what you bring to the table. The fact is that you could be the greatest coaching candidate ever, but you have to get an interview so you can provide proof. Our program plans and resume/cover letter development are based upon you and the program you want to run. You have to be able to recite your program plan because it is the heart and soul of your program. It is everything you believe in from systems you will run, rules you will have, fundraising, dealing with parents, dealing with players, staffing and staff policies, off season training, youth and middles school program development, recruiting the school, plans for the summer, practice plans, and so on and so on. The key is that it is things that YOU believe in. I have had many coaches over the years ask if they can use my program plan and the answer is always, 'no, but you can look at it to see what you need to include." Why? Because all coaches are different and all situations are different. Nothing would be worse than sitting in an interview and being asked a question in which the answer you provide is different than the one written in your plan. That is why your plan needs to be yours and unique to you.
